First sunshine after freeze; middle of the woods

Crystalized branches and cracking bark pulls; heavy snaps laced with intricately patterned pieces of a hundred million snow flakes amassing, sheep’s wool insulating foam curling into the fox’s den, and settling between the twigs of tree top nests. My footsteps deaden, drown into the stillness of centipede scurrying, rime battered branches dripping from the first soggy aired sunshine release from frozen to thaw.
